Antiques Roadshow

The Roadshow has been and gone   Another successful day  disregarding the weather. The much needed rain decided to fall that very day.

Several people went away with unexpected Treasures  A very valuable steiff dog  $2000-$5000 was a find for one lady   another item was a wooden ship  Which had a close connection to the Irish settlement in Katikati  The Macmillan family had left the West Indies after the uprising there,  and on the way home the replica ship"The Don" was whittled by one of the crew and was raffled off  The Macmillans won it and it eventually came to NZ with them. Valued at around $2000 it was a surprise to the Johnson family
This event is gaining popularity and it is hoped it can continue annually Our thanks to Les Vuletich, Mark Holwerda, Viv Leonard and Roger McGirr for helping with the Assessments  and also Jk and his band for their time entertaining the guests while waiting in the rain.
