THE NIGHT OF THE PLOUGHMAN
A Murder Mystery play based on an actual event that happened at Athenree Homestead around the year 1898. In Adela's diary (My Simple Life in NZ), though there was not an actual murder, she wrote about a terrifying experience with an employee known only as the Ploughman, this story has been cleverly adapted into a murder mystery play which is humorous and highly entertaining.
The shows will be performed for 3 nights only and tickets are limited ~ Ticket price includes a serving of a delicious Ploughman’s Soup at the intermission ~
Athenree Homestead is a unique and historic building that has been lovingly restored to its former glory of the late 19th century though fund raising continues to enable the Trust to complete 'Adela's Pioneer Kitchen wing' ~ funds raised from these murder mystery evenings will go towards this continuing project ~ so come along and have a good time in a beautiful old homestead whilst supporting a worthwhile charitable cause.
