Athenree Homestead has marked another magic milestone with the delivery of an historic grand piano, that came to New Zealand with Mary Gledstanes on the "Northern Monarch" from Ireland. Mary was the sister of George Vesey and Hugh Stewart. Janet Dwyer, the owner now, and great great grandaughter of Mary, has donated the piano on loan, and said"seeing the piano at the homestead, with velvet curtains behind, reminds me of when it was at Grannys".
The piano takes pride of place in the ballroom.
